Scania Ibérica has reached historic figures in 2024, delivering 4.400 trucks in Spain and Portugal, which represents an increase of 15% compared to 2023Sebastián Figueroa, general manager of Scania Ibérica, points out that, although part of these deliveries correspond to orders accumulated during the pandemic, the growth trend remains firm for 2025.
Market recovery and record deliveries in 2024
Scania's bus division has also had an outstanding year, with 500 units delivered in 2024, which positions Spain as the main European market for this segment.
Electromobility: challenges and alternatives proposed by Scania
Although Scania is betting on electrification in urban and regional distribution transport, long-distance transport remains a challenge. According to Figueroa, the lack of incentives, aid and adequate charging infrastructure make it difficult to achieve the European Union's 2030 objectives.
Scania proposes the HVO (hydrotreated vegetable oil) as a viable alternative in the short and medium term. This fuel allows for a significant reduction in CO₂ emissions, although it does not completely eliminate particulate matter or other polluting gases. In the Iberian Peninsula, HVO has potential thanks to its local production from recycled oils and the support of certain oil companies.
Scania Super: efficiency and savings that exceed expectations
Since its launch three years ago, the Scania Super has proven to be a highly efficient solution. With more than 6.000 units sold, this model not only meets the initial promise of 8% fuel savings, but has achieved an average reduction of 12 % according to customer feedback.
