Automechanika Frankfurt 2024: Focus on Electromobility and Sustainable Transport

The upcoming edition of Automechanika in Frankfurt, taking place from 10 to 14 September, will place a strong emphasis on the field of electromobility. With the participation of major Chinese manufacturers such as BYD, SMART, GEELY Group, AVATR, JIYUE, SERES, Chang An, HONGQI and GAC International, the event reflects the growing demand for electric vehicles and new business opportunities for the industry.

Cutting-edge innovations and technologies

“Automechanika Frankfurt is the innovation platform where products and solutions for sustainable, emission-free mobility are presented. This year, we are seeing a remarkable number of manufacturers, including those from China, offering cutting-edge technologies in electric vehicles,” said Olaf Mußhoff, Managing Director of Automechanika Frankfurt.

Expansion of the Electromobility Market

Electromobility is not limited to a powertrain; it includes the development of autonomous, connected and shared (ACES) vehicles. This market has grown by 15% annually since 2020 and is expected to reach 469 billion USD by 2030. At Automechanika Frankfurt, more than 150 exhibitors will present their innovations in electronics and connectivity, with more than 400 companies demonstrating their competence in electric vehicles.

Launch of the 'Electrical Vehicle Expo at Automechanika' (EVA)

Michael Johannes, Vice President of Mobility & Logistics, announced the ‘Electrical Vehicle Expo at Automechanika’ (EVA), a new event highlighting the expansion of electromobility, especially in China. Mr. Wang Xia, President of CCPIT-Auto, highlighted the importance of the EVA Expo in increasing the visibility of Chinese EV brands in international markets and promoting a sustainable automotive ecosystem.

Key Topics and Networking Opportunities

Automechanika Frankfurt 2024 will also address topics of sustainability, recruitment and further training, as well as the latest in accident repair and claims management. Attendees will be able to look forward to networking areas dedicated to the circular economy, remanufacturing, e-commerce and the classic car business.
