DAF launches an interactive simulator to calculate routes and range of its electric trucks

DAF has unveiled Electric Route Simulator, a new interactive tool that allows transport operators to analyze the range and operational viability of their electric trucks on real routes.

DAF presents an interactive simulator to optimize routes with electric trucks

DAF Trucks has announced the launch of Electric Route Simulator, an interactive tool designed to help transport operators and fleets select the most suitable electric truck configuration based on their routes and operational needs.

The new simulator allows you to obtain an initial estimate of autonomy, operational capacity and usability of the entire range of DAF electric trucks, including the DAF XB Electric, DAF XD Electric, DAF XF Electric, DAF XG Electric and DAF XG+ Electric series.

Autonomy simulation and vehicle configuration

The tool has been developed following the modular philosophy of DAF's Next Generation electric vehicles. Users can configure different vehicle parameters, such as:

  • Number of battery packs
  • Chassis configuration
  • Vehicle weight
  • cabin type
  • Axis configuration
  • Electric motor

The system immediately shows how each modification affects the available autonomy and the viability of daily routes.

This approach allows fleet managers to more accurately assess which electric vehicle configuration best suits their distribution, regional, or long-distance transport operations.

Tool geared towards fleet operators and managers

DAF emphasizes that the simulator not only provides initial calculations, but also allows users to contact the official dealer network directly for advanced advice using professional route planning and analysis tools.

The brand integrates this solution into its global transport electrification strategy, which includes:

  • Recharging solutions using PACCAR Power Solutions
  • Financing and leasing services
  • Connectivity and fleet management tools
  • Specific training for drivers
  • Specialized after-sales services for electric vehicles

In addition, the DAF dealer network has workshops and technical staff specifically trained for the maintenance and assistance of electric commercial vehicles.

Digitalization is driving the transition to electric transport

The incorporation of simulation and operational analysis tools is becoming a key element in accelerating the adoption of electric industrial vehicles in the transport sector.

Solutions like DAF Electric Route Simulator help reduce uncertainties related to range, route planning and charging infrastructure, facilitating decision-making in fleet electrification processes.

With this launch, DAF reinforces its commitment to digitalization and the development of solutions aimed at improving operational efficiency and the energy transition in professional transport.
