The truck market remains strong with 19,6% growth in October

The truck sector in Spain continues its unstoppable rise with a 19,6% increase in registrations during the month of October. According to data provided by Anfac, Ganvam and Faconauto, a total of 3.088 deliveries were recorded, thus consolidating the upward trend that has marked the entire year. In the annual cumulative figure, growth stands at an impressive 23,2%, with a total of 23.373 registrations.

The biggest surprise of the month was the resurgence of tractors, which saw an 18% growth in October, totalling 2.368 registrations. Despite this increase, year-to-date growth in this segment is 12,6%, reaching a total of 15.261 units. This is partly because for several months, tractors had been growing at a slower pace compared to heavy rigid trucks. However, in October, rigids over 16 tonnes also showed a strong performance, with a 19,9% growth and 409 units delivered.

On the other hand, medium-sized commercial vehicles, with weights between six and 16 tonnes, closed October with 265 registrations, which represented an impressive increase of 51,4%. In the year-to-date, growth reached 44,1%, with 2.979 deliveries.

However, light commercial vehicles were the exception in this period, recording a 23,3% decline in October, with only 46 vehicles delivered. However, over the first ten months of the year, this segment has seen solid growth of 53,4%, with 721 deliveries.

As for the leading brands in the tractor segment in the year-to-date, Volvo is in first place with 2.964 units, marking an impressive increase of 30,8%. Closely followed by Iveco with 2.216 units and an increase of 2%, Scania with 2.130 units and an increase of 16,3%, DAF with 2.092 units delivered and a slight decrease of 4,5%, MAN with 1.952 units and an astonishing increase of 62,8%, Mercedes-Benz with 1.903 units and a decrease of 5,1%, Renault Trucks with 1.571 units and an increase of 11,7%, Ford Trucks with 372 units and a decrease of 15,8%, and BMC with 61 units and an increase of 56,4%.

In summary, the truck market in Spain continues to maintain its strength with significant growth in October and solid growth in the year-to-date. The data reflect the resilience and strength of this sector, despite the economic and logistical challenges it has faced in recent times.
