October boosts the semi-trailer market with a growth of 30,44%

Semi-trailer registrations have seen an impressive increase in October, with a growth of 30,44% and a total of 2.104 units registered, according to data from the employers' association Asfares. In the accumulated total of the first ten months of the year, deliveries have risen by 7,74%, reaching 12.410 units.

Throughout 2024, the performance of the semi-trailer market has been quite irregular. There have been months with very positive growth, such as April (43,78%), January (21,50%), February (14,36%), June (8,91%) and July (9,97%), along with significant declines in March and May, with falls of 23,58% and 17,12%, respectively.

Analysis by Semi-Trailer Segments

The refrigerator segment, which had fallen by 3,6% up to September, has managed to recover, closing the first ten months of the year with a growth of 5,2%, which translates into 3.585 registered units.

• Tarpaulin semi-trailers: They remain the leading segment, with 4.176 units in the annual accumulation and a slight increase of 0,6%.
• Tippers: This segment shows strong growth of 39,1%, with 1.534 registrations so far this year.
• Cisterns: They have increased by 24,6%, registering 709 units.
• Vans: They show a drop of 7,6%, with only 546 units registered.
• containers: This segment has experienced a decrease of 17,5%, remaining at 496 units.

The Leading Manufacturers in the Semi-Trailer Market

As for manufacturers, Lecitrailer closed October as the leader, with 3.163 registered units and a growth of 3,2%. It is followed by Schmitz Cargobull, with 2.836 registrations and a significant increase of 21,3% compared to the previous year.
