How do I know if a beacon is connected and certified?

From Ryme Automotive We recommend paying attention to the following aspects:

  • Price: If it costs less than €25, it probably isn't connected. The cost of the included data (minimum 12 years) makes it more expensive.
  • Case: must show the IMEI, the expiration date and words like “IoT” or “connected to DGT 3.0”.

  • Official consultation: You can check the authorized models on the DGT website: dgt.es/v16.

What does it mean when the beacon is connected?

An V16 light connected not only emits flashing light visible at 360°, but also transmits the location of the vehicle to the DGT 3.0 system. This notification is anonymous and shared with other drivers via connected dashboards and browsers, thus increasing the visibility of the stopped vehicle.

Yes. According to the Article 39 of the Vienna Convention on Road Traffic (1968)Vehicles in international circulation must comply with the regulations of the country in which they are registered. Therefore, a Spanish vehicle can use the V16 light abroad.

  • Quick activation: It is activated simply by pressing the "SOS" button.
  • Versatility: Useful in all types of vehicles, cars, caravans, vans, trucks, buses, including motorcycles.
  • Accessibility: easier to use for people with reduced mobility.
