When will the V16 beacon be mandatory?
The requirement comes into effect on January 1, 2026 , as established by the Spanish Directorate General of Traffic (DGT). Until then, you can continue using warning triangles, but from that date onwards, only a connected and approved V16 warning light will be permitted.
