The transformation of professional transport continues to accelerate. MAN Truck & Bus has officially launched series production of its electric trucks at its Munich plant, consolidating its commitment to a future without local emissions. This milestone represents not only a technical advance but also a strategic positioning in the face of the regulatory and environmental challenges facing freight transport in Europe.
Flexible and change-ready production
The Munich plant – considered the industrial heart of MAN – becomes a European reference by integrating a single production line both diesel and electric trucks. This mixed manufacturing capability allows the brand adapt to market demand without modifying its productive infrastructure, a key advantage in a time of technological transition.
Currently, the facility can manufacture up to 100 trucks per day, regardless of the type of propulsion. This flexibility allows for agile response to the needs of logistics operators, whether in urban, regional, or long-distance environments.
Proven technology and real autonomy
Before the start of series production, MAN had already manufactured 200 pre-series units, used by customers in real work environments. These vehicles have traveled more than two million kilometers on European routes, with consumptions around 97 kWh / 100 km, validating its performance even on daily journeys of up to 850 km.
The NMC battery system, manufactured in Nuremberg, allows autonomy of up to 500 km with six modules and to 740 km with an additional seventh module, which positions these vehicles as a viable option also for intensive regional transport.
First 1.000 electric vehicles by 2025 and direct emissions reduction
MAN foresees deliver 1.000 electric trucks before the end of 2025, of which he has already confirmed about 700 ordersAccording to their estimates, this fleet could avoid the emission of up to 80.000 tons of CO₂ per year If powered by 100% renewable energy, a figure comparable to the annual emissions of a small European city.
Industrial investment and message to the legislator
The company has invested close to 1.000 billion euros in the electrification of its plants in Europe during this decade, with a significant portion allocated to its centers in Germany. In electric truck research and development alone, investment exceeds 100 millones de euros.

A commitment to climate neutrality
Looking ahead to 2050, MAN reaffirms its commitment to achieving CO₂ neutrality, being aware that 95% of its current emissions come from the use of its vehicles. The electrification of heavy transport is not just a technological option, but a strategic pillar to meet the European targets of Green Deal and move towards a cleaner and more sustainable logistics system.
This move positions MAN as a key player in the energy transition in industrial transport, offering fleets, distributors, and operators a mature, scalable solution aligned with sustainability and profitability requirements.
