Fundae Launches Financial Aid to Promote the Profession of Professional Driver

Fundae, the State Foundation for Training in Employment, has launched a 600-euro grant for obtaining class C and D driving licenses, aimed at both active workers and the unemployed. This initiative will be available from May 29, 2024 to September 30, 2025 and is part of a line of microcredits for training.

The lack of generational change in the professional driving profession has become a difficult problem to solve. To facilitate young people's access to this career, various support programs have been implemented. Among them, the recent proposal by Fundae, which offers a subsidy of 600 euros for those who obtain C and D driving licenses.

Financial assistance is all the more important when you consider that, in addition to the C driving licence, a professional driver must obtain the Certificate of Professional Aptitude (CAP), which costs around 1.500 euros on average. Adding up all the costs (driving licence, CAP and exams), the total can exceed 3.000 euros, which is unaffordable for many young people.

What Are the Requirements?

To benefit from this grant, applicants must meet the following requirements:

• Training period: Training to obtain the permit must have been completed between January 1, 2023 and September 1, 2025.
• Date of obtaining the permit: The driving license must have been obtained after May 28, 2024 and before submitting the application.
• Minimum training cost: The training must have cost at least 600 euros, including the issuing of professional licences obtained after an accredited course related to the professional licence.

Application and Documentation Process

To access microcredits, applicants must submit a series of documents verifying compliance with the requirements. In addition, the documents include the driving license obtained, the results of the training evaluation, justification of the cost of the training (through an invoice and proof of payment) and several statements of responsibility from both the applicant and the training entity, certifying the authenticity of the training and compliance with tax and legal obligations.
