Forecast for a Fall in Bus Registrations
According to the Industrial Vehicle Aftermarket Club (VI), a 6,8% drop in bus registrations is expected for 2024. José Manuel López Montoya, commercial director of MSI Insight, presented a study that predicts this decrease, estimating that 2024 buses will be registered in 3.497, compared to the 3.751 units registered in 2023.
Impact on Different Market Segments
At the Club meeting held on Monday 27 May, López Montoya pointed out that, despite the general decline, the business segment continues to be the one with the best data. However, this segment will also see a decrease in registrations, going from 3.070 units in 2023 to 2.904 in 2024.
The rental sector will also experience a slight reduction, with 567 units projected for 2024 compared to 640 units in 2023. This represents a decrease of 6,8%, a significant contrast to the 54,6% growth seen the previous year.
Outlook for the Truck Market
The report also provided forecasts for the truck market, indicating minimal growth compared to buses. Registrations in the business truck segment are expected to rise to 21.823 units in 2024.
Furthermore, the forecast analysis for commercial vehicles, including buses and trucks, suggests that total registrations will reach 32.694 units in 2024, a figure similar to the 32.437 units registered in 2023.
