In a historic milestone for the transport industry, MAN Truck & Bus has launched its first heavy-duty electric trucks, the MAN eTGX and MAN eTGS. With an impressive range of up to 800 kilometres, these vehicles represent a significant step towards sustainability in the sector.

The Munich-based German company has experienced overwhelming demand, with more than 600 order requests received to date. To meet this growing demand, MAN plans to deliver the first 200 units of its heavy-duty electric trucks to selected customers in the first months of 2024.

This achievement has not been easy, as MAN has spent two intensive years developing its heavy electric trucks. With more than 50 prototypes and an exhaustive test programme, the brand has demonstrated its commitment to excellence in electric mobility.

The manufacturer has also invested 100 million euros in adapting its factory in Nuremberg and has trained almost 4.000 employees in the production and sales departments to lead the transition to electric mobility.

MAN has a bold vision for the future, aiming for half of all trucks registered in Europe under its brand to be electric by 2030. The MAN eTGX and MAN eTGS aim to match diesel trucks in terms of range, load capacity and versatility, thus ushering in a new era in road freight transport.
